Laminating processes are processes where (mostly large) surfacts are applied to eachother. This can be thin films as well as thicker foams on different kind of woods, paper, carton or plastics. End products like furniture plates, bill boards, displays, books, textiles, foams are to be found back in every place in the world (and further).
Hot melt applications in the laminating industries are even as diverse as the materials used here. Hot melts are applied by roller coaters, slotcoaters, swirl or foam nozzles. The choice for a certain type of application depends on (end) product requirements, other machines, substrates and investments.
Hot melts for textiles
Hot melts fot the textile industry are divided in 2 categories:
-Thermoplastic hot melts, these are easy to use, have a strong initial bond and is competitively priced.
-PolyUrethane hot melts, if the bond has to cover with extreme requirements such as heat and chemicals (certain washing programs).
